Robert Arthur Riddles
Dates: 1892-1983.
The Chief Mechanical Engineer for British Railways (1948-1953). Originally trained at Crewe under the London North Western Railway, he then worked on the London Midland and Scottish Railway before being put in charge of locomotives at the Ministry of Supply during WW2.
