Roundhouse
Also known as Radial Shed.
A railway locomotive shed covering tracks that are grouped radially from a turntable. In British practice, the actual building was more usually square or rectangular.
The advantage of the arrangement was that each locomotive could enter or leave the shed without having to move others. The weakness was if the central turntable broke down, then the whole shed was disabled.
